As we get older, sometimes we forget the little things that can make other smile - or even make ourselves. If you're ever feeling this way, just look at a kid. It does not take much to make a child amused or bring a smile to their faces. Halloween is probably a kid's most anticipated day of the year. I mean who wouldn't enjoy free candies? To stir some more Halloween fun into schools, Raceway delivered close to 90 giant pumpkins to St. Benedict's and St. Gregory's Elementary school in Etobicoke. 90 pumpkins = 90 giant smiles. Kids never fail to surprise you with their talent or creativity. There is a lot of creativity that goes into decorating 90 pumpkins. 90 pumpkins means 90 unique jack-o-latern in the end. The decorated pumpkins will be given to St. Joseph's Hospital Toronto West for their annual family Halloween Fest. Not only is this a spooktacular event full of afternoon of activities, games, treats, and entertainment, it's also a community effort to support St. Joe's Health Centre. One of their initiatives is to revitalize spaces at St. Joe's like the renovated Kid's Emergency Area.Raceway has been doing this annual traditional of donating the pumpkins to and support St. Joe's for the past few years and we hope to expand this initiative to more schools throughout the community. We are hoping to donate pumpkins to more schools in the future and give students the opportunity to receive grants, bursaries, and/or scholarships.
